Job Summary:

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for any/all day-to-day activities as they relate to Receiving, Materials Management, Inventory Control, and Dispensing (Pick, Pack and Ship) of Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians. This individual will oversee the ongoing efficiency and improvement of all operational processes related to the receipt, storage, quality assurance, and movement of raw materials, packaging, supplies, and finished goods. Responsibilities include but are not limited to optimizing physical space in the firm's warehouses, developing sound and efficient work processes, tracking performance and metrics, utilizing associate resources to best meet the demands /expectations of our customers.

As one of the Designated Persons responsible for non-sterile and/or sterile compounding, the Warehouse Manager has direct oversight
of certain aspects of non-sterile and or sterile compounding according to USP and/or <795>, 797 and 800. This position will follow
Wedgewood's SOP in regard to Designated Person Responsibilities.


Essential Functions:

- Manage/monitor all inbound receipts, delivery of materials to pharmacy labs, and the pick/pack/ship related to order processing.
- Insure all inbound, delivery, storage, and outbound processes - particularly the dispensing of prescription orders to patients - are compliant with all applicable laws, regulations, and quality directives.
- Manage/monitor all aspects of the associate workforce including hiring, training, personnel evaluation, mentoring, employee recognition, shift configuration, task assignment, and succession planning.
- Ensure team members are adequately trained on all aspects of applicable processes and systems.
- Constantly monitor processes and recommend improvements to increase quality, productivity and profits; perform structured cost/benefit analysis.
- Maximize warehouse efficiency by recommending/directing process changes, physical warehouse alterations and continuous improvement initiatives and Lean Manufacturing Tools- based on a solid understanding of the operation.
- Maintain security of all inventories, finished goods and equipment, and ensure safe working conditions.
- Implement, monitor, and continuously improve inventory accuracy processes.
- Develop and manage key quality and performance indicators.
- Ensure the routing, handling, and storage of materials and shipments are performed per regulatory and chemical specifications, including cold storage and highly regulated chemicals, by collaborating with the Pharmacist in Charge and Quality RPh.
- Manage/Forecast and reforecast departmental budgets, working closely with Finance and Procurement
- Effectively manage transportation carriers, delivery services, and other 3rd party vendors.
- Prepare various reports pertaining to security, safety, inventory accuracy, productivity, and equipment maintenance.
- Work closely with and develop strong relationships across the organization, utilizing this network to achieve stated goals.


Required Skills & Abilities:

- Ability to effectively achieve results through management of direct reports and associates.
- Experience with UPS, USPS and other common carriers.
- Proven experience in optimizing receiving, warehouse configurations, picking, packing, packaging, shipping best practices.
- Proven ability to develop, track and achieve departmental metrics.
- Familiar with health, safety and cleanliness expectations of a warehouse. Knowledge of pharmacy practices a plus.
- Strong analytical, numerical, & reasoning abilities. Lean operations skills and ability to lead continuous improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrated horizontal and vertical collaboration skills.
- Demonstrated organizational design and development skills.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technology and integrate technology into workflows.


Required Credentials:
- Bachelor's Degree or relevant/related distribution experience.
- Prior pharmacy/prescription distribution/dispensing experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to obtain Pharmacy Technician certification is required.
- 4-6 years' warehouse and distribution experience at the supervisory/manager level is required including a track record of successfully leading staff, initiating process improvements and achieving business metrics.
- Best in class warehouse layout, operations and procedures knowledge.
- Strong computer skills including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to lead by example and demonstrate corporate values.
- Knowledge of USP,AZ Board of Pharmacy, DEA, and other applicable pharmacy regulations is a plus.
- Expertise in computerized warehouse and inventory systems; experience with Sage's MAS 500 a plus.


Physical Requirements (if applicable):

- Normal office activity, including keyboarding, interacting with others, participating in meetings, extended periods of sitting and/or standing in an open office environment.
- Walking, standing, occasional lifting, twisting, reaching, kneeling, and light physical effort (usually lifting/moving up to 25 pounds)
- Ability to occasionally work extended hours and weekends when required.
