Job Summary:
The goal of the labware maintenance/cleaning associate is to increase pharmacy profit by supporting the acquisition and retention of quality customers and increasing sales by maintaining policies and systems designed to ensure proper cleaning and maintenance of the laboratory, equipment, and devices and proper waste removal in the compounding department in accordance with all relevant state and federal regulations. The associate accomplishes these tasks through working with Wedgewood's management team and all other staff employees in fulfilling his/her responsibilities and duties.
Essential Functions:
- Maintain systems tor disposal, storage, and removal of all tull lab waste containers.
- Maintain systems for daily, weekly, and/or monthly cleaning of compounding equipment, and devices including, but not limited to, removable machine parts, glassware, reusable supplies / containers, and small-scale equipment.
- Maintain systems for storage and care of above-mentioned compounding items.
- Monitor and report inventory levels of above-mentioned compounding items.
- Maintain systems for daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning of compounding department including, but not limited to, floors, mats, countertops, trash cans, air vents, window and door sills, doorknobs, interior windows, eye wash stations, furniture, and chemical storage room.
- Train any additional staff on above responsibilities as needed.
- Evaluate condition and supply of current equipment and recommend any improvements.
- Implement and maintain systems for scheduled servicing, repairing, or replacing equipment when necessary.
- Follow all Wedgewood's policies and procedures and recommend any improvements.
- Support all facets of Wedgewood's operations as necessary to ensure high quality customer service, safety, and effective workflow within the organization.
- All compounding department waste will be disposed of daily according to company policy.
- All cleaning and storage of equipment and devices will be done in a safe, contamination free manner according to company safety, quality control policies, and procedures.
- All cleaning of equipment, glassware, and devices will be performed daily and during periods that cause the least disruption of workflow.
- All compounding equipment, supplies, and devices will be distributed to the appropriate compounding staff upon their request in an organized and timely manner.

- Reliable to complete all daily departmental assignments, while adhering to corporate values.
- All associates are to be present & punctual in order to meet the needs of the department.

- Work involves slight physical risks, including hazardous chemicals, that require following basic safety precautions.
- Fit testing for face mask required.
This role is structured into multiple bands based on additional acquired & performed tasks. Within levels, associates will need to include but are not limited to:
- Learn the additional role of assisting the Tablet Support Technicians in cleaning and breaking down machine equipment for changeovers between batch runs.
- After acquiring a Pharmacy Technicians License will be eligible for supporting the finished good packaging of preps.
Required Credentials:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Licensed with the New Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician/Trainee (optional)
