The process of “re-facing” is a cost effective method for changing the appearance of your cabinets without completely replacing the cabinets themselves. One of the most important parts of re-facing is that the cabinet boxes are not replaced. The original boxes are utilized in the process. The re-facing process begins by removing the old cabinet doors and drawer fronts. After this, a 1/4” piece of plywood is applied to the bottom and sides of the existing cabinets. Then, a real wood veneer is installed on the face frames of the cabinets. Following this, the new doors and drawer fronts are installed on the cabinets.
